Artist's Description

I know these little flowers as "snowbells". I was told, as a child, that in colder climes these dainty bulbs would push themselves through the late snow to remind the local inhabitants that Spring was at hand. Well, that very same child lived by San Francisco where snow was a rarity. I had to take the story at face value and run with it. I ran with it all the way to the Missouri Ozarks and it seems the snow is always gone by the time these make their appearance.
